Banking and technology veteran joins the firm as Independent Director

VANCOUVER, March 7, 2019 – Finn AI today announced the appointment of Carrie Russell as an independent director of the company, effective immediately. This announcement follows the successful $14 Million (USD $11 Million) Series A financing round that Finn AI closed in October 2018. With Russell’s appointment, the Finn AI Board expands to five directors, with Russell serving as the independent director.

Russell is a well-recognized executive in both banking and technology and is known for her work as an innovative product / solution provider and a business line leader. Prior to joining the Finn AI board, Russell worked closely with the company as a technology, market, and product strategy advisor, providing deep domain experience derived from 25 years in the financial services and technology industries.

“Carrie has been a great collaborator, sharing with us her banking expertise and deep understanding of banking from the inside, as a successful business line leader at TD Bank and as a senior Executive at D&H,” stated Jake Tyler, CEO at Finn AI. “We have a shared mission to help banks improve consumer financial health through conversational AI. Carrie’s appointment to the Finn AI board underlines our commitment to the banking domain: to build technology that solves real problems for banks and their customers.”

Formerly, Russell was SVP at TD Bank where she led businesses within Everyday Banking, Merchant Services, Wealth Management divisions, and later as EVP, CMO, and Head of Innovation at D+H (now Finastra), a leading North American B2B software company.

“Today consumers are expecting more in terms of how they interact with their bank. Finn AI unlocks unlimited possibilities, allowing users to be conductors of this relationship, delivering great value to the customer and the bank,” stated Russell. “I am thrilled to join the Finn AI Board and work with leadership and board members as Finn AI uncovers and scales the value of Conversational AI.”

Russell currently serves as a Director on the Boards of Street Capital Group in Toronto ON, and Coconut Software in Saskatoon SK. She works with both incumbent and emerging Fintech companies as an adviser on product strategy and market entry. Russell is a graduate of McGill University where she received an Honours BA and is a graduate of the Corporate Directors Program from DeGroote School of Management.
